Criteria to Own a Recreational Dispensary
When it comes to opening and operating a dispensary in Colorado, there a hoops galore to jump through. Before you seriously consider submitting an application, make sure you meet this criteria:
- Must be 21 years of age or older 
- Must be a CO resident for at least one year before applying 
- May not have any felony convictions related to controlled substances in the past 10 years 
- May not have any unreleased felony convictions in the last 5 years 
- The establishment cannot be financed in whole or in part by anyone whose criminal history indicates poor moral character or a reputation that’s dissatisfactory to the respective licensing authority 
- May not have a criminal history that indicates poor moral character 
- May not be a deputy sheriff, sheriff, police officer, prosecuting officer, or be employed by a local or state Licensing Authority 
- All employees must pass a criminal history record check
